We support federal clients implementing Cerner Millennium Software by testing a variety of changes. Our purpose is to ensure the system is working as designed with the goal to prevent defects prior to release in production. The work we do is important as it directly impacts patient safety and the end user experience. Our team supports a variety of testing efforts including functional, data migration, interface, upgrades, infrastructure changes, and integration validation testing. We also coordinate and execute regression testing, sustainment (ongoing support) testing, and interface localization validation, and play a role in formal test planning and reporting requirements for highly regulated federal environments

We are looking for a Senior Staff Test Consultant to join our team. As a Senior Staff Test Consultant, you will play a crucial role in verifying the functionality of the electronic medical software used by federal agencies. This is a client facing role working with the Government; you will be expected to lead meetings and test sessions with client representation attending. Your primary goal will be to ensure a quality product is provided to the end users through extensive testing and quality assurance processes. The work you do will contribute to the successful implementation of EHR systems and improve the lives and healthcare experience for active duty service members, veterans, and their care teams.
Responsibilities
- Support manual testing efforts of both functional testing and technical/interface testing
- Gather requirements needed for test plan development and test script creation
- Design and write manual front-end test scripts for multiple service line workflows and solutions to validate design and configuration against client requirements
- Follow test case writing standards
- Consult with clients through design decision impacts related to testing
- Coordinate and lead test sessions with federal testing teams, internal stakeholders and external stakeholders
- Provide testing oversight, direction, and expertise to stakeholders for multiple workflows within a solution
- Coach and collaborate with client on testing best practices and identify appropriate testing methods to complete system and integrated testing based on project scope, and partner with project stakeholders to identify and implement optimal testing plan
- Advise and consult with internal and external project stakeholders on testing activities, defect investigations, issues, and concerns related to assigned client(s) and/or service line(s)
- Manually execute test cases, capturing test evidence as needed
- Verify test evidence records and artifacts are maintained in accordance with testing compliance procedures
- Lead and facilitate test plan reviews and manage ongoing test execution schedules.
- Document, track, and manage test findings/defects using ALM (Application Lifecycle Management)
- Participate in the preparation and review of joint testing, regression cycles, and sustainment testing processes.
- Maintain compliance with record management and privacy/security requirements associated with handling PHI or PII data during testing.
Qualifications
- 2-5 years of overall experience in relevant role
- Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience
- Product or technical expertise relevant to practice focus.
- Strong written and oral communication skills

- Hands-on experience writing formal test plans/scripts and compiling test evidence in regulated environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience implementing an Oracle Cerner product
- Experience in testing practices
- Experience working with federal government customers
- Familiarity with EHR workflows, interface validation, or data migration testing.
- Prior participation in federal health IT projects (e.g., VA, DoD) or experience supporting test events in a regulated healthcare IT environment.
- Prior experience working in a clinical/hospital or healthcare environment, or direct knowledge of hospital operations and patient care processes
- Proficiency in Application Lifecycle Management, JIRA, or other test management/defect tracking tools
