This role is ideal for an experienced design professional who is passionate about K12 architecture and ready to lead a regional design team. The Senior Architect will oversee projects from concept through construction, ensuring technical excellence and design quality. You will mentor junior staff, manage project documentation, and coordinate with clients and stakeholders to deliver innovative and compliant architectural solutions. The position requires strong technical knowledge, leadership skills, and the ability to work independently or collaboratively in a hybrid work environment. Exceptional communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills are key to driving project success.

Accountabilities

  • Lead the Minnesota K12 design team, overseeing design, construction documentation, and project execution.
  • Mentor entry-level architects and provide guidance in design, production, and coordination of technical documents.
  • Participate in project and client meetings, ensuring design alignment with client goals and project requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with architectural specifications, building codes, life safety regulations, and ADA requirements.
  • Manage project workflows, schedules, and quality control to achieve project milestones and deliverables.
  • Utilize design and construction software such as Autodesk Revit, Bluebeam, Procore, and SketchUp to develop and review design solutions.



Requirements
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture or a related field.
  • Minnesota state license or eligibility for reciprocity.
  • 15+ years of experience in a design firm, including at least 5 years in K12 architecture.
  • Strong technical design, detailing, and construction documentation skills.
  • Proven experience managing and mentoring design teams.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with industry-standard design and project management software.
  • Willingness to travel locally as needed.
