Qualifications Overview: 

Electrical Engineering degree preferred or must have at least 5-7 years of industrial experience with electronics, computers, and control systems, or have equivalent technical education. A Senior Electronic Specialist must have a solid understanding of and ability to troubleshoot electronic components and control systems. Additionally, they must be able to write PLC programs and have a working knowledge of PC programs. Senior Electronic Specialists often work with a variety of personnel and therefore, must also possess excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain knowledge as a subject matter expert in electrical engineering as well as proactively develop skills to meet future technology advancements.
  • Communicate and collaborate with production teams, administrative personnel, and vendors in order to troubleshoot problems and generate solutions.
  • Write PLC programs and troubleshoot electrical systems to meet production demands.
  • Advocate solutions and provide guidance for process control and total quality. 
  • Improve the design, installation, maintenance and operation of all types of control devices and electronic accessories.
  • Work with computers, programmable logic controllers, electronic control devices, scanners and miscellaneous peripherals that support mill production.
  • Train other personnel in electronic troubleshooting. 
  • This role requires working extra hours as necessary and being on-call during off hours.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Wood Products experience a plus.
  • Prior lead or supervisory experience
  • Demonstrated ability to improve processes and reduce costs

Salary Range:

$80k-$120k DOE
