Why your role matters
The three Senior Lead roles within Student Systems—Core Connections, Projects, and Core Applications—work collaboratively to provide strategic leadership, operational excellence, and digital innovation across UNSW’s student systems landscape. Together, they ensure that student-facing platforms, core applications, and transformation projects are stable, scalable, and aligned with the University’s strategic priorities. Each position drives continuous improvement, fosters collaboration across academic and professional divisions, and leads multi-disciplinary teams to enhance both the student and staff experience.
Reporting to the Head of Student Systems & Projects, each Senior Lead role is responsible for managing a team that includes operational manager(s) and other professional staff, with team composition and size varying by portfolio.

Senior Lead – Projects
This position oversees the efficient delivery of major student systems projects and programs, achieved through effective governance, prioritisation, and execution. It translates strategic goals into measurable outcomes and partners with the other two portfolio’s, as well as project delivery teams across IT, faculties, and other service units to deliver transformative initiatives on time and within scope.
Senior Lead – Core Applications
This role provides strategic custodianship of the University’s core student information systems, including SiMS (PeopleSoft Campus Solutions) and integrated applications. It ensures these systems are stable, optimised, compliant, and continuously improved to support UNSW’s digital transformation and the full student lifecycle.
